Bro. Richard Fisher is "transplant native" of Silver City (not born there but lived and grew up there) and a Phelps Dodge kid. His family lived there in the same house from 1971-2006, close to the University, and he still has family in that area..

From Richard: The Silver City Lodge was Chartered in 1873, I don't know much about Silver City Masonry, other than I had many friends in school that were involved in DeMolay and Rainbow Girls, but I was kind of oblivious to the fact that it was Masonic related. I had lots of fun on a few outings I was invited to. I know the Masons and affiliated bodies met in this Logde until recent history, when they aquired a building erected by the Jehova's Witnesses located on Ridge Road. Being that I had so many friends involved in DeMolay, and they were good guys, once I became a Master Mason, I became an Honorary Member of DeMolay and am spearheading the creation of a DeMolay Chapter in the Gila Valley.

Visiting Silver City not too long ago, I was reminded of the location of the old Lodge on Bullard St. and I found the cornerstone for the building they occupied in 1923 until the recent move. I hope to visit their Lodge soon.
